JENNY AND PENNY

We were devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of our lovely Lenny, who passed away from an aneurysm aged 9. He was like a shadow to Alan. Soon after one of our regular customers came to collect her mum’s cats who were staying with us and told us her cat had had kittens. We visited the litter when they were just 3 days old and fell in love with the 2 white ones, who every time we visited, were always together.

We initially thought they were boys and decided to call them Benny and Kenny in honour of Lenny, but it became apparent that they were girls, hence we named them Jenny and Penny! Having seen them grow over the next 5 weeks, we brought both white ones home to live with us. It would have been impossible to choose between them and unkind to separate such a bonded pair. They are little darlings, who helped to bring comfort at a very sad time.

REGGIE

Reggie is the oldest of our 4 cats. He was rescued from Peterborough as a tiny kitten, by our daughter, who was working as a police officer and brought to live here with us. Reggie is quite a character. He is a very big cat, weighing over 6kg, but he is not the brightest. He is also scared of his own shadow and easily spooked. He has the habit of jumping up vertically like a cartoon cat when startled. He is not a very good hunter, once managing to catch a large slug and not much else, except a very elderly looking mouse. Reggie adores our other 3 cats and loves nothing more than to wash them.

He’s a gentle giant.

PERCY

Having lost Lottie, our elderly matriarch cat 0f just over 18 years, we decided to get Reggie a new friend. Percy came from Wellingborough and soon settled in and made himself at home. Percy if the hunter of the house and regularly brings in a variety of mice and voles, pretty much on a daily basis. He is naughty, as he often crosses the road and had a lucky escape a few years ago when he had to have his jaw wired together after a tangle with a car. Happily Percy is none the worse from this episode and continues to do exactly as he pleases!
